Recently our governor and Ford executives held a joint press conference to announce the start of a massive project to build a battery plant in the Southeast quadrant of our state. A five billion dollar investment and thousands of jobs is promised. I guess I am a pessimist. I saw several hundred acres of Kentucky hill country become a waste land harboring some of the most toxic chemicals known to man. Here is a picture of Bayon Obo; China where most of these raw materials come from. I am kind of re-thinking some of my acceptance of electric power as the answer to everything.
You can see this from space as a scar on the Outer Mongolian landscape. I know — not my backyard. But still………
